Paul Kammerer
Although I am not a genetics expert, the Science news article "The Case of the Midwife Toad: Fraud or Epigenetics? piqued my interest. It would be interesting to see if someone finally manages to repeat Paul Kammerer's experiment.
Protein expresser, purifier and crystallographer, specialising in virus fibre proteins. Working on adenovirus and bacteriophage fibres, which are the proteins these viruses use to recognise their host cells. Interested in applying this knowledge to direct adenoviruses to specific cells and bacteriophages to specific bacteria.
Collaborates in solving other interesting protein, peptide and natural product crystal structures, including endolysins, cyclic peptides and enzyme-inhibitor complexes.
